Every state writes its own road and civil specifications, and councils add their own engineering standards on top. A price carried over from another state can miss the items the local specification asks for. We price to the documents the tender calls up, from the drawings, the specification and the geotechnical report.
The specifications that set the price in Queensland
State road work in Queensland is specified by the Department of Transport and Main Roads. Its specifications come as technical specifications (MRTS) and measurement specifications (MRS), for example MRTS05 for unbound pavements and MRTS30 for asphalt pavements. The measurement specification sets how each item is paid, so we price to it item by item.
Local roads and subdivisions also follow the council's own engineering standards. We price to whichever the tender calls up, and check the current edition with the authority before the price goes in.

How we work from Sydney
Our case studies so far are NSW work. The same first-principles method applies in Queensland: every item measured from the drawings, every rate built up, and every assumption written down. Send the drawings, the specification and any geotechnical report, and we agree the fee and the delivery date before we start.
Common questions
Do you price civil work in Brisbane?
Yes. We price from the drawings, remotely, to the specifications that apply in Queensland and the council's own standards. The fee and the delivery date are agreed before we start.
Do you need to visit the site?
Usually not. Most estimates are priced from the drawings, the survey and the geotechnical report. If something on site could change the price, we write it down as an assumption so you can check it.
