Your estimate is built the way the job gets built. The client's schedule is laid out the way their quantity surveyor thinks. Items don't line up, lump sums have to be split, preliminaries have to be spread, and the total has to land on your tender price to the cent, usually late on the night before it closes.
What we do
- Map your estimate into their schedule, line by line, keeping their item numbers, descriptions and units exactly as issued.
- Split and spread the way you choose: preliminaries and margin carried in the rates, or held in their own lines, as you instruct.
- Reconcile to your tender price to the cent, and show you the reconciliation, so there's no surprise at the bottom of the page.
- Flag the items that don't fit: scope in the schedule that isn't on the drawings, quantities that disagree with ours, and items that need a qualification.
- Hand it back in their file, in the client's own Excel format, ready to attach to the submission.
With our estimate, or yours
If we've priced the job, the schedule is completed as part of the estimate: tell us at the start and it's in the fee. If you've priced it yourself and just need the schedule done, send us your estimate and the client's schedule and we'll do the conversion on its own.
Schedules of rates for council and term contracts work the same way: every rate built up, checked against the quantities and consistent across the whole schedule.
Common questions
Can you fill in the schedule from our own estimate?
Yes. Send us your estimate and the client's schedule. We map your price into it and reconcile it to your total.
Will the schedule total match our tender price?
Yes, to the cent, and we show you how it reconciles.
Where does the margin go?
Wherever you tell us: spread through the rates, or held in preliminaries or its own line. It's your commercial call.
What if the client's quantities are different from ours?
We price their quantities as the schedule requires and flag every difference, so you can decide whether to qualify it.
