The short version
Your drawings and prices are used to prepare your estimate and for nothing else. We never publish client work, never pass one client's rates or prices to another, and never sell your details. Project files are deleted 90 days after we deliver the estimate.
Who we are
Sydney Civil Estimating is a trading name of SNZ Trading Pty Ltd (ABN 40 646 914 141), Level 8, 25 Restwell Street, Bankstown NSW 2200. In this policy, "we" and "us" means Sydney Civil Estimating.
What we collect
- When you contact us: your name, company, phone number, email address and whatever you include in your message or WhatsApp.
- When you send us a project: drawings, specifications, tender documents, supplier quotes and anything else you send.
- When you engage us: the business details we need to invoice you. We do not take card or bank details through this website.
- When you visit the website: standard server logs kept by our hosting provider, which include IP addresses, and how visitors use the pages (clicks, scrolling and the pages viewed), recorded by Microsoft Clarity using cookies. Anything typed into a form is hidden from these recordings.
How we use it
To reply to your enquiry, prepare a fee proposal and your estimate, send invoices and keep the records the law requires. We do not add you to marketing lists without asking, and we never sell or rent your information.
Your drawings and tender information
- Documents you send are used only to prepare the estimate for you, on the project you sent them for.
- Your rates, margins and tender prices are never disclosed to anyone else, including other contractors pricing the same project.
- We never publish client drawings, project names, sites or prices. Any example on this website is anonymised so no project can be identified.
- Anyone who works on your documents is bound by confidentiality and sees only what they need for that job.
- Where we ask a supplier for a price, they receive only the parts of the documents they need to quote, never your rates, margins or tender price.
How long we keep it
Project files are kept for 90 days after we deliver the estimate and are then permanently deleted. Invoices and financial records are kept for as long as Australian tax law requires, generally five years.
Service providers
We use a small number of outside services, which handle information on our behalf and not for their own marketing:
- Cloudflare hosts this website.
- Google Fonts supplies the fonts this website displays.
- Microsoft Clarity shows us how visitors use this website, so we can improve it. Microsoft's own privacy statement applies to that data.
- Google Workspace, for our email and file storage.
- Formspree receives the forms on this website (enquiries and checklist downloads) and passes them to us by email.
- WhatsApp, if you choose to contact us that way.
Some of these providers are based overseas, including in the United States, so your information may be stored or processed outside Australia.
Security
We take reasonable steps to protect your information. No method of sending information over the internet is completely secure; if you would rather not email sensitive documents, contact us and we will arrange another way.
Access, correction and complaints
You can ask to see, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you by emailing tenders@sydneycivilestimating.com.au, and we will respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with how we handle a concern, you may be able to contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.

The current version of this policy is always on this page, with the date it was last updated.
