Most of the time we concentrate on the items that make up most of the value, because that's where a price is won or lost. If you'd rather have a full independent estimate to compare line by line, we can do that too.
After a loss the question is usually whether you were high on rates, too cautious on risk, or pricing work the others left out. With your estimate and the tender documents we can normally tell you which.
If you're new to tendering
A price check is a safe way to start. You price the job your way, we check it, and you see where your numbers sit before real money rides on them. It's a smaller job than a full estimate, and the fee reflects that. When you are ready to hand the pricing over, see outsourced estimating.
Checking it yourself first? Our guide sets out how to check a civil tender before you submit, step by step.
We never tell anyone what you priced, and we never pass one contractor's numbers to another.
Common questions
Will you tell us what our competitors priced?
No. We never share one contractor's prices with another. We'll tell you where you sit against current rates, and why.
Is it worth it for a small business?
Especially for a small business. One under-priced job can cost more than a year of checks.
